Ayutthaya

After Bangkok we headed to Ayutthaya. Ayutthaya was the capital of Siam prior to Bangkok; sadly it was sacked by the Burmese in the mid 1700s. There are two ways to Ayutthaya, bus and train. Since we were closer to the train station, we decided to take the train instead even though we had been forewarned that “this is Thailand, trains are never on time”.

So off we hopped onto the 820am train at only 20 baht! And after a 40 min delay we were off!

We stayed at a hostel Bouchic Hostel and it was the quaintest hostel ever! The rooms are all private and the decor is uniquely Thai. It’s a little bit off from the city centre but they have bike rentals that make transportation to tall the different sites fairly easy.
