Hiking: Dragons back 龍脊

Hiking Dragon’s Back has been on my to do this since I got to Hong Kong, and finally I managed to hike this trail, with my parents (especially my mother who agreed to forgo her yoga).

There is a million other sites that tells you how to get there, but basically from Shau Kei Wan MTR we took the number 9 bus to To Tei Wan 土地灣 stop, the hike is popular so almost half the bus emptied out.

The hike is well marked and the difficulty is low. There are some loose rocks due to the path not being paved. After climbing some sets of stairs, we are rewarded with an amazing view of Shek O on one side, and Stanley on the other.

After Dragon’s back you have a choice of heading left back to Shek O road or Tai Tam Reservoir,  we headed to Shek O road to catch the bus back to Shau Kei Wan. The total hike time is about 2.5 hours.

Why go back to Shau Kei Wan?

To eat at 安利魚蛋粉麵  On Lee Noodle which is famous for their fish ball noodles.

And the chicken egg ball thing 雞蛋子 at 低調高手大街小食. Pretty good, better than the ones in our neighbourhood!

My parents agreed to go on more easy hikes with me in the future, hopefully to some outlying islands next time?
