Hong Kong Occupy Central

As a general rule, I don’t discuss politics and religion because I believe it is a pointless discussion since everyone will stand their ground.

But lately Hong Kong has been in the grips of “occupy central” which is a student led protest with 2 goals:

1. Have free elections as was promised during the 1997 handover from British to Chinese rule.
2. Have our current HK head, CY Leung step down.

Personally, as much as I would like these two things happen, I am a realist and quite pragmatic. So I am going to say these two things won’t happen. Why? Well that gets into political discussion which I better keep to myself.

But since I work by Nathan Road I have been affected by the ‘occupy ‘ movement as my bus no longer runs since Nathan Rd has been blocked. As well, I get to see some occupy protesters taking over all 6 lanes of the road.

Here are so photos taken during my lunch hour and after work on Tuesday Sept 30th.

Bus drivers seem to have abandoned their vehicles and they now have become billboards for discontent:

So there you have it, protests everywhere. Scared and excited where this road will lead Hong Kong. My Hong Kong.

Hong Kong. Travel. Climb. In that order.
