Hokkaido Roadtrip Day 2: Daisetsuzan National Park

From Furano we drove to Sounkyo Onsen in Daisetsuzan National Park.

We climbed up to the peak of Kuro-dake which turned out to to mostly still covered in snow so the hiking was fairly wet and tiring. Incredible view though.

This trail is famous for its wildflowers. Not many yet as snow still covered most of the trail.

My parents were going to hike up with us, but one look at the snow patch and they turned back. Smart choice, coming down was a bit treacherous. After this hike, we went to our nearby onsen hotel and feasted on the yummy Hokkaido steaks.
