Jeju, South Korea

Summer is over! (For the kiddies) That means cheap flights are back on the market. This time we found some cheap weekend getaway flight for ($1000hkd) to Jeju for the first weekend of September. Jeju is nicknames (by the Koreans) as the “Hawaii of Korea”, so we will see about that.

After taking to red eye flight, we picked up our rental car and we’re on our way to circle the island by 8am. The island is only about 250km in circumference so an easy 2 day trip is perfect.

The first day we drove from Jeju to Sewigapo via the east coast and checked out the sites. There are a bunch of UNESCO sites that cost 2000 Won to enter.

And the 2nd day we drove back to Jeju via the west coast.

We quite like Jeju island. The food is good, the scenery is pretty and most importantly there is kite surfing! It certainly is pretty, laid back and I much prefer it to Seoul. I will definitely be back to kitesurf soon!

If there was one thing I would have done differently, it would be to not stay in Jeju or Sewigapo and instead rent some beach side bungalow (which is very plentiful) along the ocean.
